SUI Expedition Grant Criteria change due to COVID-19 and 2020 Grant Awards

In light of the restrictions to international travel as a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic, the SUI has approved the temporary inclusion of Irish based applications to the SUI International Expedition fund.
In addition to this change, any application for funding under either the International or Kozlowski funds, must include submission of a document detailing the measures that will be undertaken to minimise the risk of COVID-19 transmission.
At present this change will apply to all applications made during 2020, we will review this arrangement as 2021 approaches.

To date in 2020 the SUI Expedition Fund and Kozlowski Fund have awarded grants to two expeditions.

An award of €600 was made for an International Expedition to Panama shortly before the beginning of the Irish COVID-19 restrictions.

An award of €500 from the Kozlowski fund, and an additional €1000 from the International Expedition Fund, has been granted to an expedition within Ireland in early September. Application included a full mitigation strategy for minimising COVID-19 Transmission risk.
