The SUI Cave Photography Workshop is on the move! The new date for the workshop is on the afternoon of Saturday 25th October during SUICRO 30 in Cahir, Co Tipperary. The workshop will consist of a classroom session followed by a short underground trip to practice in the nearby caves. Entrance to the workshop is free to SUI members. Cost for non-members is 10 euro. A prize for the best photograph taken at the workshop will be announced during the SUICRO Photography Competition. The SUI is pleased to announce it is running another Try Caving day in conjunction with the merry members of the Clare Caving Club on Sunday the 2nd of March 2014. The day will begin in Lisdoonvarna Co Clare. These events are aimed to introduce newcomers to the sport who might be interested in taking up caving on a regular basis. The SUI is pleased to announce it is running an assessment day for Basic Cave Leader (BCL) award candidates in Co Clare on Saturday June 14th 2014. The assessment is open to those who have completed the BCL training weekend. Places are limited so if you want to complete the award please contact SUI ASAP to secure your position! The SUI’s first Cave Surveying Course ran successfully over the weekend of 8th/9th February in Co Fermanagh despite very wet weather. The course covered the theory and practice of basic cave surveying and included classroom and underground sessions. Many thanks to the SUI’s Al Kennedy for running the event and to all who participated to make the weekend a success
